Temperature sensors for special tasks: Solutions for heavy industry

One of such solutions are sensors in syalon thermowells, i.e. artificial ceramic alloys designed for high performance in harsh environmental conditions. These solutions are designed to be extremely hard, as well as chemically and thermally stable.
An example of a material in this group is silicon nitride. It is a special compound designed for industrial applications where excellent wear, corrosion and temperature resistance are required. It also performs great at high temperatures, maintaining good mechanical strength up to about 1400°C, as well as chemical stability against many liquid metals, acids and bases.
Sensors in syalon thermowells are designed to work in glassworks, metal foundries or the energy industry, as well as wherever extreme resistance is required.
